How check templates and completed checks work
Why templates are separate from the checks staff complete.
A template is the list of questions. A check is one completed copy of it.
Why templates are reusable
Write the questions once, then schedule them for any asset as often as needed. Fixing a template improves every future check that uses it.
Why past checks don't change
When you edit a template, checks already completed keep the answers and questions they had at the time. This protects your records for audits.
Copy instead of starting again
Copying a template is the quickest way to make a variation, for example a van check based on a car check.
Results and reports
Completed checks appear in Safety Checks with pass and fail details, and can be exported as a report for inspections or customers.
